Appledore is a real gem and once visited you will want to return watch the boats come and go sample the locally landed seafood or perhaps take a trip across to the neighbouring village of Instow either by car or in season a small passenger ferry can be found on the quayside. The Little White Town of Bideford with its narrow streets antique shops and choice of eateries is worth a look. For those who really want to get away from day-to-day life it is possible to take The Oldenburg from Bideford across to Lundy a three-mile long island in the Bristol Channel which is a haven for wildlife including puffins and grey seals. Guests enter this three-storey property on the second floor where there are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom is a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) whilst the second is a bunk bedroom. The bathroom on this floor has a shower over bath and WC. An open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner occupies the first floor and to the rear of this room a Juliet balcony offers views down to the patio and out across Appledore and to the river beyond. These views can be enjoyed from the lounge area s comfortable sofas or alternatively you can watch the TV/DVD.
