Situated in the pretty village of Shorwell this quaint cottage offers a wonderful holiday retreat. Shorwell itself is a beautiful unspoilt village with a range of amenities including a traditional country pub and a small shop. It is a great location for those who wish to escape for a week with a plethora of wonderful walks to enjoy and within easy reach of beaches to laze on. The town of Newport is only 7 miles away and is often considered as the capital of the island. There is a good selection of places to visit including Museum of Island History and Newport Roman Villa. The island is famed for being an Area of Outstanding National Beauty and containing some of Britain s finest views and landscapes. On arrival at the cottage the country cottage charm will welcome you. The wooden door opens into the comfortable lounge which is completed with exposed beams roaring woodburner muted lighting and a sumptuous sofa along with a TV and DVD. After a day of exploring the island this is a great place to retreat to. There is also a dining area in the lounge making this a great area to enjoy breakfast or a light lunch. The kitchen continues with the charming country feel and is equipped with electric oven fridge/freezer microwave and washing machine. There is a separate dining room where a more formal meal can take place. The bathroom with shower over the bath and WC can also be found on the ground floor. Heading up the cottage style stairs guests will find the bedrooms. The first bedroom is a four-poster room with a double bed. The second room is a twin bedroom with distinctive features including a chest and grandfather clock. Heading outside there is an enclosed natural garden to enjoy with garden furniture. Surrounded by hedges and mature trees the garden is a great place to enjoy those lazy summer evenings. There is off-road parking for 1 car.
