The hamlet of Far Sawrey has a popular pub The Cuckoo Brow Inn whilst the neighbouring village Near Sawrey is home to Hill Top the National Trust managed former home of Beatrix Potter not to be missed by anyone who enjoyed her books as a child. The larger village of Hawkshead is only a short drive away and has several National Trust properties including the historic Grammar School where William Wordsworth was once a pupil also offers a choice of pubs cafes and some lovely shops. Guests will appreciate the attention to detail in this cottage which has been tastefully and elegantly decorated in muted colours throughout giving it a restful and relaxing atmosphere. On entering the property through the stable door guests will immediately come to the welcoming lounge with its comfortable seating and large fireplace which now houses the wood burner making sure that the cottage remains lovely and cosy whatever the weather. There is also a TV and a DVD here which guests will appreciate relaxing in front of after a day of sightseeing and outdoor pursuits. The spacious kitchen/diner is located to the rear of the property and offers a dining table seating six oven hob microwave dishwasher fridge and washer/dryer whilst a freezer can be found in the under-stairs cupboard. A prettily glazed door leads from the dining area through a porch to the rear of the property. The master bedroom with double bed and en-suite shower room with WC is located on the first floor as is the main bathroom with its shower over the bath and WC. Two further bedrooms are located on the second floor: a double and a twin which both have low sloping ceilings dormer windows and lovely views of the surrounding area. To the rear of the property is a lovely enclosed garden which has a patioed seating area with steps leading down to a lawn where there is shed which can be used for storing bikes.
