The village of Grosmont once an important medieval township and centre for trades now well served with a post office and shop and a fantastic village pub with excellent food and frequent live music. Many walks can be taken from the house to include the Three Castles route and further afield the Skirrid Sugar Loaf and Offa s Dyke path where you can enjoy a day s walking with a lazy pub lunch. The area is rich in local produce with local farmers markets at Monmouth Usk and Abergavenny. For historians you can step back in time and explore Grosmonts Norman castle Llanthony Priory Raglan Castle and the White Castle at Skenrith. The National Park and Wye Valley are both perfect for thrill seekers and family fun with outdoor activities to include mountain biking canoeing and climbing. This recently restored property has a wealth of original period features such as the carved door heads and ancient oak front entrance carved with 1673 complete with colossal iron key. Through the hallway is the games room complete with snooker and pool table a wall mounted Smart TV cleverly concealed as a painting and a wood burner. The bedrooms are inviting and sumptuous. Finished with crisp white bed linen and fine bathrooms and offering refined luxury whilst respecting the paired down Jacobean interior and preserved period features. The King Charles room is accessed off the stair case leading from the lounge a super-king zip-and-link has a roll-top slipper bath in the main bedroom itself overlooking the church and hills beyond together with a chic en-suite shower room and WC behind secret panelled walls. In the Nell Gwyn room stands a seductive king-size four poster bed with feature headboard in the form of a canvas painting showing the lady herself in all her glory. This room enjoys and en-suite with shower over bath and WC. A small room with single brass bed adjoins perfect for children or single sex groups. The Church Room a super-king-size zip-and -link with its vaulted roof is filled with light and enjoys perfect views of the spire at St. Nicholas. More clever panelling hides an en-suite with shower over bath and WC. The Loft Suite extends to the entire footprint of the house this has a king-size sleigh bed and separate sitting area with coffee table and Smart TV. The Loaf sofa bed offers a single bed when pulled apart which is suitable for children. A Nespresso coffee machine and kettle are provided so guests can enjoy a morning treat without having to venture downstairs. The spacious en-suite bathroom features a Jacuzzi copper bath and a bespoke glass double rain-head shower and WC. Outside enjoy the fully enclosed sunny garden with BBQ table chairs sun loungers kids mini croquet for summertime and when the sun sets enjoy the warmth of the blankets provided for evenings outside by the fire pit.
