Corfe Castle was originally constructed in the 11th century by William the Conqueror and has been adapted on many occasions since. During the summer the Purbeck Film Festival holds movie evenings at the castle which are a spectacular experience. Younger visitors will love the model village while older visitors who remember the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton might be interested to know that Corfe Castle was the inspiration for Kirrin Castle.
