Butterwick although tiny is perfectly placed to explore all that North Yorkshire has to offer. Close to the stunning Castle Howard and set between the market towns of Malton (Foodie Capital of Yorkshire) Helmsley and Pickering it s also at the foot of the spectacular walking country of the North Yorkshire moors and its famous Steam Railway. The seaside towns of Whitby and Filey make excellent days out as do the quaint coastal villages of Sandsend Runswick Bay and Staithes. Dogs in particular will love the beaches! The ancient city of York is close by for visiting the National Railway Museum or just wandering in the Shambles or on the castle walls. This area is also noted for its fabulous country pubs. Enter via the hallway with limestone flagged flooring where there s room to store coats shoes and muddy walking boots.
