This lodge is in a great location on the edge of the village of Hawkshead. This pretty village made famous by Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth is often described as the most picturesque village in the English Lake District and is set in a beautiful area. Hawkshead offers easy access to Ambleside and Windermere and the mountains and lakes beyond. The village is in a prime location for walking cycling and sight-seeing for the whole of the National Park. Together with a great choice of Lakeland pubs with cafes and local shops close by it is the perfect base for a Lake District stay at any time of year. Set in an elevated position this is one of three handcrafted lodges built by a local team surrounded by meadowland and offering wonderful views of the hills and rolling countryside. A short flight of steps leads up to the porch and here you enter into the hallway with plenty of space for coats and muddy boots. There is a large open-plan room with spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has leather sofas surrounding the TV/DVD/CD for you to enjoy after a day exploring. There is a traditional pine kitchen area with electric oven and hob microwave and dishwasher. In the dining area there is a large pine table for sharing family meals. This spacious lounge/kitchen/diner has the lovely view from the French windows across to Claife Heights. Moving towards the rear of the lodge there are three bedrooms a double and two pretty twin rooms all simply furnished with pine furniture. The bathroom has a shower over bath and WC. Off the hall there is useful utility cupboard with washing machine. A gravelled footpath leads from parking area behind the lodge where guests will find plenty of space for two cars. The French doors lead out to the sunny terrace which runs along the front of the lodge. The sunny deck is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy your morning coffee.
