Shanklin is one of the Isle of Wight s best-known seaside resorts and it is home to a long sandy beach that extends north to neighbouring Sandown with its famous pier. Shanklin offers up shops restaurants pubs and cafés as well as several amusement features along the shore including crazy golf. Take a trip to Shanklin Chine a cliff garden that winds up the hill at the south end of the beach. Plant and tree enthusiasts are in for a treat. The beach is a great place to build sandcastles paddle swim and sunbathe when the sun is out. Shanklin has a railway station with connections up to the east coast to Ryde. Shanklin is also a travel hub for the public bus network so you can reach all of the top visitor attractions and places of historical interest across the island.
