Alternatively you can enjoy downland walks or follow the course of the River Yar from Niton to Bembridge. A short stroll will take you to the main village of Niton. The small but popular seaside resort of Ventnor is just a short drive away. Renowned for its sandy beach and the Ventnor Botanic Garden the town also offers a choice of great shops and places to eat and drink. Also nearby are St Lawrence Blackgang Chale and Brighstone. It is a wonderful location in which to relax watching the sailing boats pass by and is sensational for such events as the Round the Island Race in June.
