The lovely rural village of Newchurch which has a beautiful church and a good public house for meals is walking distance from the cottage. Borthwood Copse a great place for seeing red squirrels is nearby as is the beautiful Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve. A short drive will take you to the glorious sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. Other beaches can be found at Seaview St Helens Bembridge and Whitecliff. Places to visit include the Amazon Adventure The Garlic Farm The Roman Villa and Carisbrooke Castle or you can take a trip on the steam railway from Havenstreet.
