During your stay guests are also welcome to make use of the private lake frontage owned by the nearby estate. East of the lake is Grizedale Forest where you will find wonderful woodland trails for both walking and cycling. The nearby village of Coniston boasts a selection of shops cafes and inns ideal for stocking up on supplies or enjoying a hearty meal after a long walk. The front door opens into a welcoming sitting room which features original sash windows and wooden floorboards covered by cosy rugs. This light and airy room offers plenty of seating for all guests to relax together whether that s beside the wood burner at one end of the room or the open fire at the other. From here step down into the grand dining room where a long rustic table sets the scene for memorable candlelit dinners. To the other side of a small lobby is the spacious kitchen which boasts under floor heating a small breakfast table range oven and windows and a door that open onto the garden flooding the room with light. From the sitting room stairs lead up to the first floor where all seven bedrooms are located. One beautifully decorated double bedroom boasts a stylish tiled alcove housing a magnificent copper bath while the three other double bedrooms all benefit from en-suite bath or shower rooms.
