It is the perfect base for making the most of the stunning natural landscape with the Old Man of Coniston offering a range of walks to the summit to suit all levels of fitness. On the lakeside there is a boating centre from where visitors can participate in a range of water sports and hire a range of craft including canoes sailing boats and motor boats. Next to this facility the National Trust run their beautifully restored Victorian steamers taking visitors on leisurely cruises on the lake.
