This property is located in a traffic-free zone in the harbour town of Brixham one of three towns clustered around the bay of Torbay in South Devon. The town has a proud maritime history and the harbour is still the thriving centre of the town today with fishing vessels tour boats and the Torquay ferry running to and fro. There are number of beaches in the town including the quiet St Mary s Bay the main Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone with its impressive 53-metre tidal pool. For those who want to find out more about the town s heritage there is a wonderfully constructed replica of Sir Francis Drake s ship The Golden Hind moored up at the harbour offering five decks of hands-on exhibits to explore. This pretty property makes a lovely seaside retreat and has been thoughtfully styled to offer a wonderful place to stay. On entering the cottage guests will find themselves in the open-plan living space which has cosy underfloor heating and an attractive beamed ceiling and warming wood burner. The kitchen has been hand-built in reclaimed wood and is equipped with an oven hob microwave fridge and washing machine as well as a breakfast bar seating four. The lounge area has a comfy sofa and two easy chairs from which to enjoy the TV and DVD or spend the evening chatting around the wood burner. Stairs lead to the first floor where the first of the two bedrooms can be found as well as the bathroom which offers a shower-over-bath and WC. This bedroom is a charming double room with a double bed beamed ceiling and built-in dressing table and wardrobe. The master bedroom on the second-floor is a stunning room which has the feel of an upmarket hotel room with its double bed sloping ceiling and French window which opens onto a Juliet balcony offering beautiful views across to the harbour. Outside to the front of the property is an enclosed seating area with a table and chairs which makes an ideal spot for enjoying alfresco drinks. Need to know: Two double bedrooms. Brixham is busy fishing village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.. Many of the amenities and cottages in Brixham are accessed via steps some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.. There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Brixham do not have private parking. However, alternative parking is available in local carparks..
