A friendly welcome awaits you from the donkeys who graze the neighbouring slopes often joined by a rescue pony. There is plenty of adventure to be had without using the car; breathtaking walks fish in the river or take a dip in the river s plunge pool chop wood for the fire pit or hire bikes which can be delivered to the door. Crickhowell is a 5 minute drive with butchers baker Post Office and independent shops. A day trip to Hay-on-Wye famous for its International Literary Festival and canoeing on the River Wye are a must or try trekking in the hills. The oak cabin offers lounge/diner/sleeping area: 1 double accessed via a ladder (restricted head height in the eaves) and 1 bunk beds (suitable for under 8s) and a woodburner/stove (first basket of logs included). The railway carriage offers open-plan kitchen/bathroom area: kitchen area with gas hob Bathroom area with freestanding bath. Separate WC. Outside: large fire pit for camp fire cooking and canopy area with table and chairs for all weather dining. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen and towels included. Need to know: SLEEPS 2 4 : A fabulous romantic oak cabin with a hand made oak double platform bed, twin cabin beds suitable for under 8's and the option for older children to come and stay by simply packing a tent or a blow up mattress. Cosy Welsh blankets and proper bed linen for two adults and two children included. RELAXING : Sofa and chairs in the oak cabin with log burning stove, traditional games and reads and dramatic views from the sofa. EATING: Dining table within the oak cabin. Handmade kitchen area within the railway carriage, worktop with gas hob, belfast sink, hot and cold running water and all the pots and pans you need. Large fire pit outside for camp fire cooking. Canopy outside for all weather dining as well as table and chairs. KEEPING CLEAN: There is a free standing bath, with piping hot running water on tap from the owner's private water supply, as well as fresh towels provided. The loo is separate (approx. 15 metres from the cabin along a pathway) and is a normal flushing loo (not compost). GET AWAY FROM IT ALL : This is an "off grid" holiday, the essence of glamping and perfect for hard core fresh air fanatics! This does mean that there are no plug sockets in the cabin itself, however there is electric lighting available and the owners are happy for guests to charge gadgets at their home if needed. STAYING CONNECTED: Mobile phone reception is available on most networks in the yard, but can be patchy. WASTE & RECYCLING: Please note that there is no rubbish collection from this property as it is off grid. Therefore you will need to recycle everything or the owners kindly ask that you take your rubbish away with you at the end of your holiday.
